When the Edimax router power light is blinking and the unit will not start normally, the fault may be simple: an unstable power connection, a failing adapter, or a startup process that has stalled. A flashing LED does not always mean the router is dead, but it does indicate that the device has not reached its usual ready state.

The first priority is to separate an electrical problem from a network problem. A router can have no internet connection while its hardware is working correctly, yet a power indicator that keeps flashing, goes dark, or never settles usually requires attention before you check broadband settings, Wi-Fi passwords, or the Edimax setup page.

Edimax models use different LED colours and startup patterns, so the printed manual remains useful. On some devices, the power light flashes briefly during boot and then becomes steady.
